Cliptop 1.8.0: Snippets and faster keyboard workflows
Cliptop 1.8.0 adds reusable text snippets with template variables, Quick Look previews, new keyboard shortcuts, and smarter Calendar actions.
Cliptop 1.8 turns frequently typed text into reusable snippets and makes it faster to work through your clipboard without reaching for the mouse. You can now expand saved text in any app, fill in template details as you go, preview copied files, and act on visible clips with new keyboard shortcuts.
Type it once, reuse it anywhere
Save text you use often as a snippet and give it a short trigger. Type that trigger in any app and Cliptop expands it into the full text, whether it is a quick reply, an address, or a longer block you would rather not type again.
Snippets can also include template variables for details that change each time. When you use one, Cliptop asks for values such as a name or date before inserting the completed text.
Preview and use clips from the keyboard
Press Command-Y to open macOS Quick Look for a copied file or image, so you can confirm what you found without opening another app.
You can also press Command-1 through Command-9 to quickly paste or copy one of the visible clips. Command-, now opens Settings.
Smarter actions and a tidier panel
Calendar Smart Actions now do a better job of recognizing scheduled launches and interpreting event details that include an explicit time zone.
Trial and update notices have moved into the clipboard panel’s top toolbar, keeping important status information visible without taking over the panel. The Text Inspector now follows the system appearance more consistently, too.
Bug fixes
- Fixed the update window sometimes appearing behind other active windows.
- Fixed newly captured clips taking a moment to appear in the clipboard panel.
